This is a film many women didn't get -- but anyone who has felt as though they are "working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need" will understand the anger that runs through this film.
Some of the frustration is distinctly masculine. How they handle the anger is not so mature, but it satisfies a need some of us feel for cathartic relief. The violence is principled, in a way.
I think many men have a Tyler Durden lurking within, screaming to get out. Maybe if we see it as a part that needs our attention, we can find healthier ways to satisfy its needs.
