Shinzen Young - Mature Spirituality

This is a short video from Zen teacher Shinzen Young - toward the end he mentions his conception of mature spirituality - "seeing through the self and world, and improving the self and world" - exactly.

Shinzen talks about working with Feel, Image and Talk from the surface to source, with successive deepenings bringing about insights into no-self as thing, impermanence, and the eventual deepening into the Divine Nothingness, which is talked about in various ways in the contemplative core of all religions. He then shares the "gold standard" of mature spirituality - the complementary nature of "seeing through the self and world, and improving the self and world". Filmed in Nov. 2009 at Mt.
